The United States and Peru establish a strategic agreement aimed at promoting investments in the energy sector and essential minerals.

The two countries signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Monday to attract US investment to strategic projects in the Andean nation. According to a statement issued by the diplomatic delegation, the agreement establishes a framework for collaboration on investments in "key sectors" such as infrastructure, energy, logistics, technology, and critical minerals. The memorandum will also facilitate the exchange of information, the organization of seminars and business missions, and coordination between Peruvian and US public and private entities.

The United States Ambassador to Peru, Bernie Navarro, and the Executive President of Peru's Private Investment Promotion Agency (Proinversión), Luis del Carpio, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Monday aimed at promoting U.S. investment in strategic projects within the Andean nation. According to an official statement released by the U.S. diplomatic mission, the agreement establishes a framework for cooperation focused on developing investments in strategic sectors such as infrastructure, energy, logistics, technology, and critical minerals.


Furthermore, the MoU includes mechanisms to facilitate information exchange between the parties, the organization of seminars and trade missions, and the coordination and collaboration between Peruvian and U.S. public and private entities. As Navarro stated, "Peru is a key strategic partner for the United States, and our economic relationship continues to strengthen, driving increased trade, job creation, and new opportunities for both nations." He also emphasized that "the quality, commitment, innovation, and business practices of U.S. companies are recognized worldwide, and these companies are fully prepared to continue investing and developing businesses in Peru."


The signing ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister of Peru, Luis Arroyo, along with representatives from the country's main business chambers, underscoring the multidimensional and strategic nature of this alliance.
